Pony Experiences

Pony Experiences for children and adults visiting Bumblebarn Bell Tents must be booked in advance, though last minute availability may be advertised on site during your stay. Bookings are limited to a maximum of four people in a session and a maximum of two sessions per day. All ages welcome, though age 3+ is recommended. Younger siblings of participating children may stroke ponies if help by a parent or guardian.

Under the care of our experienced and insured horse owners you will be able to groom a pony, be given basic horse management advice and have a short walk on horseback (on a lead rein at all times; please note all riders must be under 10 stone in weight). You will receive a certificate and rosette.

Pony Parties

Available for both campers and the public, Pony Parties are a magical way to celebrate a special occasion or just to indulge the children (and grown ups!).

​

A maximum of 5 children - recommended age 3+ - can visit us here at Bumblebarn to make friends with and groom two ponies from head to hoof - including applying rainbow mane chalk - and then each have a short pony ride (on a lead rein at all times; please note all riders must be under 10 stone in weight).

 

You will have your own dedicated green space in which to relax, enjoy the view, have a picnic or party tea (self catering)  in the Cosy Caravan, and grown ups can keep an eye on the fun while having a complimentary cup of tea or coffee in the "Parent's Shelter"

Portaloo toilet facilities and cold water handwashing and hand sanitiser are provided, as well as fresh drinking water.

Group leaders are experienced and insured horse owners and ponies are reliable steeds who have been in the family for years. Riding hats are provided for all children while in contact with the horses. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more.

Approximate pony time of 1 hour, use of green space and cosy caravan for up to 3 hours.
