Terms & Conditions

Bumblebarn Bell Tents (also referred to as "the company”, "we" or “us”) reserves the right to change this website, including prices, and terms and conditions, without notice.

We also reserve the right to refuse entry to the campsite, cancel bookings, or instruct people to leave the campsite, for any reason (for example due to inappropriate, violent or aggressive behaviour, dangerous weather or site conditions)

 

Use of the Bumblebarn Bell Tents website constitutes acceptance of the company’s Terms and Conditions. We will always ask you to read the terms and conditions before confirming your stay, and by booking with us you confirm you have done so.

 

Privacy
​

Your contact and personal details may be kept by us for future mailings and news. You may opt out of receiving emails at any time by contacting us.

 

We will not pass on or sell your details to any third parties.

 

 

Booking

 

To secure your a 25% deposit payment must be made. Confirmation of the booking will be sent once this has been received.

​

Until deposit payment is received we reserve the right to re-let the tents.

​

The balance is due at least 2 weeks before the start of your stay. If you have booked online the balance will be taken automatically from the card used. If you have booked over the phone or by separate enquiry you may need to contact us to pay the balance.

​

If the balance is not paid by 2 weeks before the start of the stay we reserve the right to re-let the tents, the original booking would be considered cancelled and the deposit would be lost (see 'Cancellation' below).

​

The person booking, where they are booking on behalf of other people, is responsible for disseminating the appropriate information to those persons that we send them. For example, these Terms and Conditions, directions, and to ensure all members of the party are fully aware of the nature of the campsite, the facilities, the grounds, the service we offer and any appropriate clothing and footwear they will require.

 

 

Cancellation
​

Cancellations made at least 6 weeks before arrival will lose the deposit.

​

Cancellations made between 6 and 2 weeks before arrival will lose the deposit and 50% of the balance payment.

​

Cancellations made less than 2 weeks before arrival will lose the deposit and full balance payment.

​

Where possible, we will try to accommodate any changes to avoid cancellation. However, we strongly recommend you take out a holiday insurance to cover any cancellation.

​

We bear no obligation or liability for any cancellation or alteration made due to circumstances beyond our control. However, in this case a full refund would be given.

COVID - 19 Specific

​

With regards to COVID-19 the following terms will apply:

​

If any of the following points apply to you or any member of your group then you may not stay at Bumblebarn and will be asked to leave if you attempt to check in

​

  • If you or anyone in your group have a confirmed case of COVID-19

  • If you have any symptoms of COVID-19

  • If you have been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within 14 days of your arrival

  • If you have returned from a country on the “do not travel” or “essential travel only” list within 14 days of your arrival

 

Please contact us and we will assist you with rescheduling your booking.

​

If you arrive despite this advice you will have to leave immediately and your payment will not be refunded.

​

If you begin to display symptoms during your stay you will be asked to leave immediately and your payment will not be refunded. Failure to disclose symptoms or a positive test could be a criminal offence. 

​

If you cannot travel due to a national or local lockdown please contact us and we will assist you in rescheduling your booking. A refund may be offered if this is not possible.

​

In all other cases relating to COVID-19 (including symptoms, positive tests etc) please contact us and we will assist you in rescheduling your booking. 

​

Site Rules

​

Regretfully, No Pets are allowed on the Campsite.

​

No naked flames (candles, tea lights, lighters etc) inside the tents at any time. Smoking is only permitted in the car park area.

​

Quiet hours are between 10pm - 8am, please respect other camping families and our neighbours. Quiet hours for whole site bookings are 11pm - 8am. For definition purposes "quiet" is to mean no music playing, no excessive noise i.e. shouting or singing or musical instruments being played.

​

Bumblebarn Bell Tents is a family friendly, peaceful campsite set in the grounds of our family home and registered smallholding, and is surrounded by wildlife such as Owls, Foxes, Rabbits, Partridge, Horses, Dragonflies and many more. As such we ask that all guests respect the grounds and countryside we are located in. No cars are allowed on the main camping field but you will be able to park in the adjacent car park. Wheelbarrows are provided to help you move your belongings to your tent.

 

Fires are allowed only in the fire pit.

 

No fireworks, balloon releases, or sky lanterns as these pose a risk to wildlife.

​

No non-biodegradable glitter, sequins, confetti etc are to be brought on site or used.

 

You are permitted to bring your own balloons and banners provided they are disposed of responsibly, ideally in our zero waste to landfill bin.

 

Sparklers are permitted when used responsibly and at your own risk.

 

We operate a low noise policy after 10:00pm, and would appreciate your compliance in this matter.

 

Before use of the Fire Pit and BBQs guests must read the terms of use and health and safety implications and take full responsibility for their safe and proper usage. Full instructions for the use of the fire and cooking equipment can be found in your welcome pack in your tent.

 

Please inform us during your stay of any accidental damage, so we can identify it as not malicious and replace it for you. 

 

Any damage deemed malicious, caused by inappropriate behaviour or of which we are not notified may result in a bill for replacement being sent. 
 

Any aggressive or violent behaviour towards Bumblebarn Bell Tents staff or it's customers will result in you being asked to leave the site immediately. If this behaviour continues, relevant authorities will be involved.

Whole Site Hire

 

To protect our other campers experiences, please note that parties e.g. Birthdays, Hen and Stag groups etc. are only permitted when the whole site is hired (see here).

​

However we'd be thrilled to host your party and can offer a range of services, including a licensed mobile bar. We are also able to arrange catering, children's entertainment, holistic therapies and massage, group yoga and more. Please contact us!

​

When the whole site is hired the booking and deposit payment should be made by one attendee (the 'responsible person') The responsible person should then contact us to discuss the nature of your booking, and will be responsible for ensuring all members of their party have read these terms and conditions before they travel for their stay.

 

Arrival and Departure Times

 

Tents will be ready for arrivals from 4pm

​

Please let us know your estimated time of arrival. We will make every effort to greet you on arrival, but in the event we are called away you will have the information you need to locate your tent and facilities provided in your confirmation email. In this event we will make every effort to greet you asap.

 

Guests are requested to vacate the campsite by 11.00am on day of departure.

 

 

Your visit to the Campsite

 

Guests and visitors agree to be considerate tenants and to take good care of the tents and facilities during their stay. Guests and visitors agree not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to other guests. No pets are allowed at the campsite. Should any facilities, equipment, or inventory, be damaged willfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, or a as a direct result of failing to respond to instructions from staff you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of that item. The company cannot accept responsibility from any loss, damage, or expense arising from industrial action, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions or any other event outside the control of the company.

 

We are a back to nature campsite and as such there are natural hazards, such as tree roots, poisonous plants, and extremely limited lighting after dark. Also depending upon weather conditions, cold, wet and slippery surfaces. 

 

We are located near to a garden machinery workshop, quarry, dog kennels and children's activity centre. While none of these unduly affect time spend on our campsite we must point out that you may not find utter silence here.

By booking you agree to be responsible for your children and any dependants and for your own welfare and to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to the facilities and tents, such as regarding litter, fire, noise after 10.00pm.

 

Anything you bring to the campsite and/or any damage or loss to your possessions is at your own risk. Candles and tea lights are not permitted in the tents and you will be liable for damage caused if you ignore this rule. The Company accepts no responsibility from any loss or injury arising from being in the campsite.

By booking, and acknowledging these Terms and Conditions, you are aware of the risks, hazards, and dangers of personal injury in entering the campsite.

 

Camping in Britain can mean unpredictable weather. Whilst we supply certain facilities and equipment, it is still camping and you are responsible for your own well being and comfort regarding appropriate clothing and footwear etc. Be aware the tents are cotton canvas and in prolonged and heavy rain the tents may leak slightly. We cannot be held responsible for poor weather conditions during your stay.

Health and Safety
​

We want you to enjoy your time at Bumblebarn Bell Tents. On arrival you will find an information pack in your tent containing safety information as well as lots of maps, leaflets and tips for things to do on your stay! By using our cooking facilities and fire pit you confirm you have read and understood the information on correct use and take full responsibility for yourself and your dependents. Safety equipment (e.g. Oven gloves) should be used.
